“QUEREMOS QUE EL TEMA TENGA UN TRATAMIENTO SERIO Y PUNTUAL PARA CONTINUAR AVANZANDO”

Organizada por la Cámara de Comercio, Turismo, Industria y Producción de Viedma, este miércoles se desarrolló la charla abierta “Importancia social, ambiental y económica del río Negro”. Con la intención de reflexionar y debatir acerca de la salud de nuestro río, a través de múltiples miradas, la jornada contó en ésta oportunidad con la presencia de profesionales de la Universidad Nacional de Río Negro y de la reportera gráfica de la comarca, Evangelina Martínez.

Como se anunció desde su convocatoria, la charla pretendía ser un espacio de concientización y análisis sobre uno de los temas que más preocupan en nuestra provincia: la situación ambiental de nuestro río Negro.

“La intención fue la de volcar opiniones que permitan trazar un cuadro de situación con respecto al estado de nuestro río y, entre todos, manifestarnos al respecto, todo ello en defensa de un bien que, sin lugar a dudas constituye una de nuestras mayores fuentes de riqueza”, expresó el presidente de la entidad empresaria, Agustín Moggio al término del encuentro que se realizó en el Cine Gama de Viedma.

“Dada la relevancia que el río Negro tiene en nuestra provincia como recurso natural y económico, pero fundamentalmente como fuente de vida para sus habitantes, la finalidad no pretendía ser otra que la de dar forma a ideas y sugerencias que contribuyan a la toma de decisiones por parte de nuestras autoridades. Entendemos que el río tiene varios sectores y múltiples aristas de análisis, nuestra intención es que a partir de aquí surja una contribución más a lo que ya la sociedad de la comarca viene trabajando y comprometiéndose”, explicó Moggio.

COMPROMISO INSTITUCIONAL
“Los aspectos relacionados con la contaminación del río, que son los que más nos preocupan, también tienen otras formas de análisis. Por un lado tenemos lo que sucede con los agroquímicos, con las mineras, con las plantas de tratamiento que son justamente los que constantemente se mencionan, pero también existe aquella contaminación que provocan las urbes que están en la vera. De modo que apuntamos a concientizar explicando que, por ejemplo, una bolsa mal cerrada, los papeles y envoltorios de galletitas, entre otros residuos, terminan en el río. En fin, cualquier cosa que tiramos en la ciudad va a parar al río a través del drenaje, del viento o de lo que sea”, amplió el referente de la entidad empresaria.

En relación a los objetivos del encuentro, Moggio expresó que “lo que aspiramos desde la Cámara de Comercio es a que la gente y la comunidad de Viedma tome ésta causa como propia. La situación que hoy vivimos es resultado de lo que pasó en los últimos cincuenta años. Revertir esas situaciones nos puede llevar tiempos similares. Esta pequeña contribución que hacemos desde una charla en la cual tuvimos lugar para el debate, queremos que sea un bastión más en el compromiso existente sobre estos aspectos”.

“De nuestra parte, está el compromiso institucional de trabajar el tema con las autoridades pertinentes, para hacerles llegar las reflexiones alcanzadas. Queremos que el tema tenga un tratamiento serio y puntual para continuar avanzando con jornadas similares para analizar, aportar y discutir líneas de acción. Y sobre todo para buscar los canales de difusión más eficaces “.

LA IMPORTANCIA DE PARTICIPAR
Dada la trascendencia del tema abordado, desde la Cámara de Comercio se invitó al encuentro a la toda la comunidad, a sus entidades representativas, públicas y privadas, a los organismos e instituciones de la Comarca Viedma-Carmen de Patagones y a los distintos medios de comunicación, no sólo para difundir las alternativas de la reunión, sino también para dar a conocer sus opiniones sobre el tema.

En éste sentido Moggio destacó la participación de quienes “se acercaron preocupados y motivados por el objetivo de la charla”, y explicó que, por ejemplo, en distintas reuniones mantenidas con funcionarios del Departamento Provincial de Aguas (DPA) “se les ofreció el espacio para que expongan los trabajos que están realizando en el río, pero aún así les pareció prudente no participar”.

“Hoy participaron profesionales de la Universidad Nacional de Río Negro, en el futuro pueden ser otras personas vinculadas a la Ciencia u otras instituciones las que se acerquen a exponer sus investigaciones y puedan hacerlas llegar a la comunidad. En este sentido agradecemos su presencia, como así también el aporte de Evangelina Martínez, quien compartió su experiencia en África, registro fundamental para tomar conciencia de la importancia del agua. Un recurso que cada vez resulta más escaso en el planeta y que en los próximos siglos sabemos que va a valer más que el oro”.
